El Gallego Restaurant Review, Pilar de la Horadada
This place has a reputation of being one of the best steak houses in the area. (They also do fish and other options).
Run by Spanish, and typically catering for the Spanish market, you will typically need a limited amount of Spanish to be able to order, etc. We also suggest that typically, the steaks come under done compared to your preference. (If you like medium, ask for well done, for example)
The prices are ridiculously cheap, and the steaks are fantastic quality. The story is that 2 brothers are involved; one owns the (refurbished) restaurant, the other owns a farm where the cows are reared…..
This trip was the first where we were disappointed- our theory is that we were given the wrong order (5 people ordering solomillo)- no starters, but they were not as we normally expect. This wouldn´t stop us from going again- every restaurtant can have an “off day”, and we´ve been plenty of times to know this was an isolated incidence.

We had the Fish platter, was amazing.
Thanks for the heads up!- We´ve not been since we did the video and are overdue a visit.
Hi we went to this restaurant specifically for a steak as everyone was raving about it. My wife took the safe option which is to order a fillet steak because she does not like any fat of any kind. The steak was perfect, just as you would expect of a fillet cut.
I had a T bone, at least that’s what i asked for. The steak was full of fat, reams of it really poor quality and unfortunately the vast amount was not edible.
I have only had two T bones in Spain, both were dogs, so the moral of this story is stick to fillets its much safer and you will avoid disappointment.
