Valencia Fallas 2023 | Episode 117

Helen booked this trip for Andy´s Christmas Present – and it´s an event that we suggest gets added to peoples “bucket list” to do at least once. The main event is every year on the 19th February (Spanish Father´s day)

We´ve done a few trips to Valencia in the past (there´s a playlist here )

This trip we drove (mainly because of plans on the Monday, more of that in the future). We stayed at “Happy Stay” hostel, booked through Airbnb. (Don´t take any notice of the outside of the building, it´s not respective of the inside of the building)

We walked over 40km through the weekend, visiting as many of the Fallas as we could. It´s was REALLY busy- busier than we´ve seen at Walt Disney World, for example. We tried a few different restaurants and street foods, none of which we were massively impressed with this trip, except one: we discovered “China Town” and decided to try Vietnamese food (a first for us)

We loved it. The restaurant is called “Vị Việt” (Vi Viet) and is worth finding out if you are in Valencia.

This was also our first ever experience using Airbnb, staying at Happy Stay Hostel (it´s a LOT better than it sounds!)  @eurotourguidespain  are doing a coach trip to this event in 2024- details here: https://eurotourguide.com/en/costa-blanca-south/coach-tour/coach-tour-17th-20th-march-2024-valencia-fallas-4-city-centre-hotel (If you don´t want the hassle of sorting yourself)
