Toledo

We managed to get 3 nights away to Toledo- the question is, is it enough time to explore this historical Spanish city?

Many visit Toledo for the day on the train from Madrid- at approximately 30 minutes by train, its a great option. Suggestion: If you plan on doing Toledo in a day, work out EXACTLY what you want to see, do and experience. The hilly cobbled streets have something to discover on every corner, and your time is at a premium.

We drove from Torrevieja to Toledo in just over 5 hours, with stops. This meant we had the late afternoon from the Friday, 3 nights until early afternoon on the Monday.

Would it be enough time to explore the city?

We had lots of things we wanted to see, do and experience, but this list was likely to change once we were there, and at any given moment; The Alcazhar, Cathedral, various Churches, historical points of interest, maybe a bus tour/ hop on, hop off bus, architecture, and food.

You know it´s all about the food, right?

The forth coming video will feature almost everything that we manage to see, experience and eat.

Thanks go to one of our Youtube subscribers, Helena Keen Pelling who provided her map over on our Facebook community page.

Her map had lots of places where they visited previously, including tourists places and bars and restaurants. YUM.

Things we did?

We purchased the Toledo Monumental wristband- this gained us access to SEVEN monuments within Toledo. https://toledomonumental.com/en/ – the wristband is valid for a week, from memory. We did the 7 monuments over 2 days, the wristband allowing access to each monument once.

We did an underground walking tour through Get Your Guide – https://gyg.me/qhWzObUH guide is very knowledgeable and it takes you to places that the public don´t normally have access to.

We also did the Tourist Train through Get Your Guide- an excellent way to see the city from outside, looking in- complete with audio guide in multiple languages, this takes you around the outskirts of the city, with a stop off at the Mirador.- well recommended this one – https://gyg.me/qhWzObUH

We also bought tickets from the Cathedral box office, outside of the Cathedral itself – https://www.catedralprimada.es/

There´s going to be three videos from Toledo – this is the main one

The second video is from a place where we had an excellent goof value breakfast- Restaurante Pizzeria COMES – located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8BDMwtVUuKhHMonA8

Would we go back to Toledo? Yes. Without a doubt. We are contemplating for a future roadtrip in the next couple of years, encompassing Cuenca, possibly Teruel, and Salamanca (which we have never visited).
