Somewhere new- Vienna
As a Christmas present, Helen arranged to take Andy to Vienna. Somewhere neither of us had been to before, so it was a new place to explore.
And we knew practically nothing about it.
We went towards the end of January 2020- (Andy had arranged to take Helen for her Christmas present back to Rome in February!) and had a few days to explore this historic city, based on the river Danube.
Highlights were the architecture, museums and the Hard Rock cafe… the fun fair (Prater) was mainly closed (unusually we didn´t do much preparation for this trip)- but it was good to see somewhere new.
Favourite food? Er… there was some good sausages in front of the parliament building where the ice skating rink was (quite large rink on multiple levels/ impressive) and the Hard Rock Cafe. It was also the first time we had ever had “fresh” horseradish, and we also tried sachertorte -it was “ok”……
Would we go back?
